Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all purchases made through this website from Riesa Maree ("the Artist", "we", "us", "our"), an independent artist based in Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa. By placing an order, you ("the Buyer", "you") agree to these Terms. Please read them before purchasing.

1. The Artwork

Every piece offered for sale is an original, hand-painted work of art and is one-of-a-kind. As each work is handmade, slight variations in texture and finish are part of its character. Colours may also appear slightly different on screens and devices compared to the original artwork; these natural variations are not considered faults.

2. Prices & Payment

• All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR).
• Full payment is required upfront. An artwork is only reserved and prepared for dispatch once payment has been received in full.
• Payments are processed securely via PayFast (credit/debit card) or by bank transfer (EFT) where arranged.
• International buyers: payment is charged in South African Rand (ZAR). Your bank or card provider handles the currency conversion at their applicable exchange rate, and any conversion or transaction fees they charge are for your account.

3. Shipping & Delivery

The price shown for each artwork covers the artwork only. Packaging, delivery and insurance are quoted and invoiced separately (a second invoice), based on the size of the piece and the delivery destination. You are also welcome to arrange your own packaging and courier. You may also choose to collect the artwork in Hermanus.

• Delivery costs are for the Buyer's account. All shipping and courier charges are payable by the Buyer and are additional to the price of the artwork.
• Once full payment (including delivery) is received, the artwork is carefully packaged and dispatched.
• Local (South Africa): deliveries are sent via The Courier Guy. You can estimate shipping using their Quick Quote tool. The delivery cost will be confirmed before dispatch.
• International: orders are shipped via DHL Express for safe, tracked, worldwide delivery. You can estimate shipping using DHL's Get a Quote tool. The Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and for any import duties, taxes, customs charges or clearance fees levied by the destination country. These are not included in the artwork price and are payable by the Buyer.
• Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays caused by couriers, postal services or customs are beyond our control.

4. Cancellations

As each work is an original prepared specifically for the Buyer, orders cannot be cancelled once payment has been made. Please make sure you are happy with your choice before completing your purchase.

5. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges, including for change of mind. By purchasing, you confirm that you have viewed the artwork's images, description and dimensions and are satisfied with your selection.

6. Damage in Transit

While every artwork is packaged with great care, in the rare event that your piece arrives damaged, please notify us in writing within 48 hours of delivery, including clear photographs of the artwork and its packaging. We will work with you in good faith to find a fair resolution. This clause applies only to genuine transit damage and does not affect clause 5 above.

7. Copyright

Copyright in all artworks remains with the Artist, Riesa Maree, at all times. Purchase of an artwork transfers ownership of the physical piece only and does not grant any right to reproduce, copy or use the image for commercial purposes.
